Woodland Academy: Forest Management for Wildlife

08/27/2026
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Great Mountain Forest‘s Woodland Academy, “Forest Management for Wildlife,” will take place at GMF’s Yale Camp, Thursday, August 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This course is for landowners, land trusts, municipalities, and forest managers interested in using active forest management to support diverse wildlife species.

The GMF Woodland Academy offers workshops for forest owners (individuals, nonprofits, municipalities) to understand, steward, and sustainably use their land. Participants learn about ecosystem processes (e.g., fungal networks), interpretive skills (e.g., tree ID), management practices (e.g., climate smart stewardship), and sustainable uses (e.g., wood products or ecotourism). Workshops support professional continuing education, and foster partnerships among participants, creating a more connected regional forest community.

Course Fee: $25
