Trash and Recycling: Norfolk Transfer Station

The Norfolk transfer station is open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is closed on legal holidays that fall on Monday or Wednesday, and open the day after these holidays (except for Thanksgiving). It is never open on Sunday.

Annual stickers are available beginning on June 1 and must be in place by July 1 for the coming 12 months. They must be permanently affixed to the lower corner of the windshield on the passenger side. Stickers for a second vehicle registered at the same address may be purchased at a discount. For more information about stickers, call the Town Clerk’s office: 860-542-5679. You may download an application and mail it in with your check.

Please recycle and save Norfolk money! The Transfer Station accepts newspapers, magazines, cardboard, bottles, cans and more. See the Transfer Station pamphlet for details. It also accepts textiles for recycling instead of shipping them elsewhere. Baystate Textiles has placed bins next to the trailers for appliances and electronics and is taking a wide range of clothing and bedding. Click here for details on what they accept. Remember, too, that everyday seasonal clothing and bedding in good condition are welcomed by the Clothes Closet, a companion to the Food Pantry located at the Church of Christ.
