SUMMARY:Woodland Academy: Forest Management for Wildlife
DESCRIPTION:Great Mountain Forest's Woodland Academy\, "Forest Management f
 or Wildlife\," will take place at GMF's Yale Camp\, Thursday\, August 27 f
 rom 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This course is for landowners\, land trusts\, m
 unicipalities\, and forest managers interested in using active forest mana
 gement to support diverse wildlife species.\n\nThe GMF Woodland Academy of
 fers workshops for forest owners (individuals\, nonprofits\, municipalitie
 s) to understand\, steward\, and sustainably use their land. Participants 
 learn about ecosystem processes (e.g.\, fungal networks)\, interpretive sk
 ills (e.g.\, tree ID)\, management practices (e.g.\, climate smart steward
 ship)\, and sustainable uses (e.g.\, wood products or ecotourism). Worksho
 ps support professional continuing education\, and foster partnerships amo
 ng participants\, creating a more connected regional forest community.\n\n
