As part of his tour of the northeast USA in November, renowned Irish fiddler, Gerry O’Connor, will perform at the Norfolk Library, Saturday, November 23, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Noted for his fluid and ornamented lyrical fiddle, learned from the great Sligo masters, and his vibrant pulsating dance music, Gerry is regarded as one of the great fiddle players of his generation. He has toured and recorded with members of all the legendary groups including Planxty, Bothy Band, De Dannan, Boys of the Lough, and Chieftains. A four- time winner of The Fiddler of Oriel competition, Gerry was awarded the prestigious Bardic Award “Ceannródaí” by Comhaltas in 2018 for his valued contribution to the traditional arts.
