10/23/2024
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The documentary film, Ratified, will be shown at the Norfolk Library on Wednesday, October 23, at 6:30 p.m. followed by a discussion with the filmmakers. Many Americans believe that the Equal Rights Amendment is already the law of the land. And perhaps they should. In 2020, Virginia became the 38th and final state needed to ratify the amendment. And yet, it is still not in the Constitution. Find out more about the movement to bring the Equal Rights Amendment across the very last threshold and protect gender equality for all.
On Thursday, October 24, the second documentary in this short series The Candidate will be screened, followed by discussion.
The second film is about a Pakistani immigrant human rights lawyer who has run twice for Congress and the effect of corporate donations on the candidate’s campaign.
