Old Colony Road remains closed to through traffic during construction. Signage has been placed on the Route 272 (North Street) end of Old Colony Road informing drivers that the road is closed for through traffic. Signage and barricades have been placed on the Route 44 end on Old Colony Road informing motorists that the road is closed.
This is in response to the numerous calls from concerned residents about the amount of traffic on Old Colony Road and the speed the traffic is traveling. The Norfolk Public Works crew has also experienced many near misses exiting and entering the driveway to the Public Works Department.
