03/29/2024
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Friday, March 29 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. the Norfolk Library will host its first in the “Visions of Europe” film series with the film “Afire” (2023), directed by Christian Petzold.
Film director and Norfolk resident, Diego Ongaro, will introduce three under-the-radar contemporary films with unique voices, highlighting the creative richness and vitality of the European film landscape.
Hypnotic, witty and poignant, “Afire” follows a group of friends on the Baltic sea where emotions runs high as the parched forest around them catches fire. A genre defying comedy of manners from the German master Christian Petzold that could be an Eric Rohmer movie that escaped from the 1970s.
