Norfolk Chamber Music Festival: Composers with a Side Hustle

From insurance actuary to cabby to chemist, “Composers with a Side Hustle,” is dedicated to composers who also had other jobs and features works by Philip Glass, Charles Ives and Alexander Borodin. William Purvis, on horn, and Serena Canin, on violin, will perform with the Norfolk Fellows, Friday, August 9, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Festival concerts are held at the Music Shed on the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Estate.

This performance is the final concert in the Festival’s 2024 themed series, “Charles Ives and the American Tradition.”

Tickets: $70 to $35, $10 Young Adults (19-35),
Children under 19 are free.

There will be a free pre-concert conversation (open to the pubic) from 7:00 to 7:40 P.M. in the Battell Recital Hall. Join Professors from the Yale School of Music before the Friday evening concerts to learn about the weekend’s programs. Tickets for the concert will be available at the Music Shed following the conversation.
