5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Join the Norfolk Library, Thursday, February 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for, “Getting Kids and Parents to Talk: A Wilderness Therapy & Mentoring Workshop.” This 90-minute communication workshop focuses on connecting parents and children, or individuals looking to communicate more effectively. Facilitated by Ed Thorney, founder of Wilderness Therapy & Mentoring, this social/emotional mini adventure is not your typical lecture, but is experiential. You will be actively involved, collecting your own data on your preferred communication style, understanding what happens when your preferred style isn’t working, tracking how interactions with your child deteriorate, recognizing what gets in the way, and learning alternatives to try. You will also be asked to reflect on intergenerational patterns.
