Yale Norfolk Art Lecture: Julianne Swartz

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Yale Norfolk School of Art continues its “Making Light” Thursday night lecture series on Thursday, May 30, with Julianne Swartz from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Art Barn on the Battell Stoeckel Estate with a wine reception to follow.

Julianne Swartz’s sonic and optical installations use utilitarian materials (e.g., tubes, mirrors, lenses, magnets) to warp, reshape or deepen perception, generating unexpected, ephemeral and participatory experiences out of common situations.

The Yale Norfolk School of Art, established in 1948, is an intensive six-week undergraduate summer residency program for 26 rising seniors. It is made possible with the support of Yale School of Art, The Norfolk Hub, the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Trust, Low Road Foundation and Battell Arts Foundation.
