DESCRIPTION:Great Mountain Forest's Woodland Academy\, "Using Hand Tools to
  Manage Your Woods\," will take place at GMF's Yale Camp\, Tuesday\, July 
 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This course is for landowners\, land stewar
 ds\, and conservation practitioners interested in hands-on forest manageme
 nt techniques using non-mechanized tools.\n\nThe GMF Woodland Academy offe
 rs workshops for forest owners (individuals\, nonprofits\, municipalities)
  to understand\, steward\, and sustainably use their land. Participants le
 arn about ecosystem processes (e.g.\, fungal networks)\, interpretive skil
 ls (e.g.\, tree ID)\, management practices (e.g.\, climate smart stewardsh
 ip)\, and sustainable uses (e.g.\, wood products or ecotourism). Workshops
  support professional continuing education\, and foster partnerships among
  participants\, creating a more connected regional forest community.\n\nCo
