SUMMARY:Woodland Academy: Hosting Hunters on your Land
DESCRIPTION:The first session of Great Mountain Forest's 2026 Woodland Acad
 emy\, "Hosting Hunters on Your Land\," is scheduled for Saturday\, May 23 
 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at GMF's Yale Camp. This course is for private
  landowners\, land trusts\, municipalities\, and forest stewards intereste
 d in understanding whether and how to allow hunting on their property whil
 e balancing safety\, liability\, conservation goals\, and community relati
 onships.\n\nThe GMF Woodland Academy offers workshops for forest owners (i
 ndividuals\, nonprofits\, municipalities) to understand\, steward\, and su
 stainably use their land. Participants learn about ecosystem processes (e.
 g.\, fungal networks)\, interpretive skills (e.g.\, tree ID)\, management 
 practices (e.g.\, climate smart stewardship)\, and sustainable uses (e.g.\
 , wood products or ecotourism). Workshops support professional continuing 
 education\, and foster partnerships among participants\, creating a more c
