The Norfolk Library is offering an eight-week series of virtual book discussions led by Dr. Kelly Kandra Hughes, now with the University of Colorado, beginning on October 7.
Embark on a sensory exploration this fall with her 8-week virtual program using Gretchen Rubin’s “Life in Five Senses: How Exploring the Senses Got Me Out of My Head and Into the World.” In this book discussion, readers will be invited to rediscover the world through sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Discussions will explore how heightened awareness of our senses can enrich our daily experiences, boost happiness, and foster deeper connections with our surroundings. Join us as participants share insights, personal anecdotes, and practical tips inspired by Rubin’s engaging narrative. Whether you’re a long-time Rubin fan or new to her work, this book discussion promises to awaken your senses and transform your perspective on the simple joys of everyday life.
Find out more at the first introductory meeting on October 7. There will be no meeting on Indigenous Peoples’ Day or Veterans Day.
