SUMMARY:Poetry Café: Exquisite Corpse Poetry
DESCRIPTION:Join the Norfolk Library for their monthly Poetry Café in the
Great Hall on Wednesday\, October 21 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The October Ca
fé will follow a slightly different structure\, as attendees will be writ
ing together and creating Exquisite Corpse poetry. Exquisite Corpse is a c
ollaborative poetry game that traces its roots back to the Parisian Surrea
list Movement. It is played by several people\, each of whom writes a line
of poetry on a sheet of paper\, folds the paper to conceal it\, and passe
s it on to the next person for their contribution.\n\nWe will be creating
several Exquisite Corpse poems during the Café\, so come ready to write.
If you have an Exquisite Corpse poem from previous writings and would like
to share it\, feel free to bring it. Participants from last year’s Octo
ber café will recall our collaborative poems. Folks are welcome to come a
nd listen without participating\, although this exercise lends itself well
to poets and non-poets alike.\n\nEvent Information and Registration\n(860
