The summer estate of Daniel Chester French (1850-1931), sculptor of Abraham Lincoln for the Lincoln Memorial, is one of the hidden gems of the Berkshires. The visit will include a 10:00 a.m. tour of the nine-bedroom residence and French’s newly rehabilitated studio, showcasing the important works that evoke the breadth and scope of his career. There are formal and woodland walks throughout this 122-acre estate with contemporary sculpture and stunning views of Monument Mountain. Please meet at the Library at 9:00 a.m. to carpool to the estate or meet the group there at 10:00 a.m. The Library will cover the cost of admission.
