SUMMARY:Day 1 - Teach the Teachers: Forestry Education Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Great Mountain Forest\, in coordination with Northwest Conserva
 tion District and UConn 4-H are hosting a Forestry Educators Retreat\, "Te
 ach the Teachers" August 14 through 16 at the Yale Camp in Great Mountain 
 Forest. At the time of this event listing\, there are 13 speakers with mor
 e to participate.\n\nThe goal of this retreat is to have teachers of all t
 ypes (public school\, 4-H programs\, nonformal educators\, etc.) work with
  industry professionals that will be sharing their knowledge of forests an
 d forest management in New England. This will increase instructor confiden
 ce in their knowledge and ability of teaching students of all ages and abi
 lities forestry concepts in their curriculum. Activity based workshops wil
 l address the needs of all types of classroom experiences. Sessions are de
 signed to both raise the scientific rigor of agricultural courses and prov
 ide middle\, high\, and postsecondary educators with new technologies and
