The Battell Arts Foundation invites individuals in Norfolk and Colebrook to apply for a grant for a variety of arts-related endeavors, including but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, music and arts education.
Applications are being received for review at the end of this month but can also be submitted on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Applicants should download the application form [http://www.battellarts.org/apply] from the foundation’s website, fill it out and attach it to an email to battellarts@gmail.com.
Founded originally as a community funding group for the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the foundation now supports a wide variety of individuals and groups participating in artistic enterprises throughout the community. It provides grants to support initiatives of the Norfolk and Colebrook schools for such things as a recurring drama program, field trips to Connecticut museums, and the purchase of musical instruments. It has also supported the Greenwoods Puppet Festival, the Norfolk Library One-Act play presentation, violin lessons for youth and a
bevy of one-off community art programs.
