"Peter J. Ketchum knows how to get the viewer's
attention. Shown widely around the country, his
pictures commingle colors, people, situations,
commentary and mediums in a manner that is
provocative, funny and to the point. Attempts to
pigeonhole the work as Pop, folk, cartoon, mixed
media, collage, anthropomorphic, or merely strange
tend to fall short of the mark!"

I have never been an artist who sticks to just one medium. My degree is in Fibers and while I love to sew, weave, felt and collage, in the last six years I have found an increasing fascination with found wood sculpture. Though the methods and materials are quite different from my textile work, I feel that there is a surprising continuity in my aesthetic choices. |
